Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Seems to be a lot less wireless outrage this weekend. I personally think they have done a much better job this time around. Can't say I like the music, not the volume the style (I'm looking forward to the house festival in September). Nevertheless, the the build has been far more professional than last year and appears less chaotic. It's nice that they listened and recognised their mistakes.

The sets early and mid afternoon Sunday sounded to me to be noticeably louder than any on on Fri+Sat, though only nudging towards "ble*din' 'ell" territory in my gaff. Expectation management I guess. No opinion on FoFP views.

Yes I noticed that too.  I hardly heard a thing Fri/Sat....I vaguely had to turn the TV up when the Euro finals started and that was the worst I had to endure....

It was because it was windy. It blew the sound further!

I was annoyed to see the 'ConnectN4' twitter account going hell for leather on twitter about it too. I don't know what these people hope to achieve by bombarding the council with tweets.

We walked through the park from the Stroud Green gates to the Endymion exit earlier today and I was impressed with how clean it was already. They look to have put a lot of effort into getting it sorted quickly. Really clean! I look forward to seeing what the revenue raised brings to the park. I'm hoping for a way better skate park along the lines of Clissold

The money needs to start going into jobs.

I think it's only right and good that the funds from events in the park remain earmarked for the maintenance and improvement of the park.  I saw hundreds of people employed on this event.

The problem is that the current batch of employees are on temporary contracts. This just perpetuates poverty as people can't really develop professionally. So the income generated by concerts needs to create permanent full time jobs within the park service. Not short term contracts. My assumption is that the concerts will go on for many many years so the jobs will be sustainable.

Yes, the view from the No.29 top deck this morning showed the site already well advanced in the clear up.  Finsbury Park itself was not noticeably more litter strewn or untidy looking than it ever is.

That Twitter account takes the piss, I swear.

Ms Kober should have been more clear in her tweets that this was about generating income rather than implying that LBH have saved live music events - that is not their remit imo.

I am sadly wrong in my support for this. It doesn't appear to be attended by hitherto working class kids from Tottenham, mostly posh looking kids. I wonder if Sadiq would bring back Rise?

Sadly KFC let ANYONE into their restaurants. The only class of children who have a reputation for trashing restaurants are Eton sourced Oxford undergraduates (Tories to you and me).
