More to follow, any party can adopt these ideas and they should enguage all of them within their political career. it's a wish list so you can be as creative and dynamic as you like.

Just thought of something.( pie in sky - but hey ho it's a bucket list) What about the McDonald's site including car park.
The arena's going to be redeveloped, and the station would only have to drop the 'lanes' part.

I used to go to the Harringay Market but not sure it would be viable any more, since places like Harringay Local Store have opened on Green Lanes?

Yes, agree with Joe. There just isn't an appetite for a regular food-only market here; and especially now with shops like HLS, B&B and restaurants offering wonderful, affordable food. For me the problem isn't location; it's what the market offers. A great market will always attract visitors but here it needs a wider remit than just food.
I think it's a shame the market shut down, it was a nice event and somewhere to go but I rarely bought anything or spent much as I couldn't personally justify the expense on food when we have very good cheap grocery stores locally. I used to buy from the second hand book lady but wasn't really interested in the other non food stalls as they weren't that interesting or the calibre that I would buy from (not all, there were a couple that I liked). There are loads of craftspeople / designer-makers around Harringay who would bring diversity and interest to such a market, I would recommend appealing to them if you were going to do it again. Would it be feasible to do it again as a one-off and see how it goes? I suppose the location is key with this though and it seems difficult to find anywhere. I thought SHJS was the best location.
I found the prices outrageous. I bought some speciality cheeses there. The next day I happened to be in Knightsbridge and discovered I could bought them cheaper in Harrods Food Hall.
Agree about the special vibe a market creates. But on the occasions I went, it wasn't there. For me, a neighbourhood market needs to attract enough punters to make it worth the traders time and pockets. And offer more than food to have a wider reach. Lauren's post below is where I'm at; a market that also champions the existing wealth of creative businesses on our doorstep. Maybe more of a seasonal event, 3/4xs a year rather than every week. Location is not the problem; we are served well by buses, trains and tube and two great community schools to host. What the market offers, and a wider reach using creative marketing could mean we have the makings of a market that reflects the vibrant, diverse, creative community we live in rather than one that engages the few.

Well you took a risk in business, sadly for you it didn't pay off, despite the support, mine included, you received. Can Harringay sustain a market? Who knows. But the thread is 'a bucket list for Harringay'. A vibrant, thriving market-event type thing for Harringay would be my wish.

I would just like to say that I think you put your heart and soul into the market and I truly admire the efforts you put into it. But ultimately market forces prevailed. Whilst you may be prepared to pay more for local produce, many families who have to make choices to make ends meet aren't prepared to do so, and you can't knock people for that. My cheeses were all imported so whilst I appreciate that Harrods may be able to buy it at a better rate, they also have huge overheads that a stall holder does not. The stall concerned could have purchased a table or gazebo from my purchase alone. I certainly don't blame you or your management of the market for that. But I think some of the stall-holders took the michael. Charging £4 for a cup cake that probably cost 40p to make, for example.

The market on Tottenham Green now has a permanent licence. For those on the 41 or 230 or 341 or W4 or 259/279 bus routes, it's ten minutes from Green Lanes. Seems very similar to me to the old Harringay markets.  Lots of street food plus some food stuffs  bread cheese etc.  Today, Tottenham Marsh honey.

To balance things out from what I see to be an obsession with all things outdoorsy ...when I was at school, the GLC gave us free tickets to the opera and the ballet... I would like to see much more emphasis on the difference art and culture can make to lives...there's more to life than cycling
Having spent five years at art college studying fine art, visual communication and interactive design, I don't need much convincing. It is a shame we have lost Hornsey College of Art and Mount View Academy of Performing arts to Peckham.

My focus has been on the built environment, which can still promote the cultural importance of the Arts to our community, and the local economy.

I have been enjoying cycling more, switching from a Schwinn to a Racer, I always thought the best way to plan a city is to cycle through it, racers feel every pot hole, so I understand the importance of good road surfacing, which can sadly cause fatalities, (as I have read about and weary of myself.)
