Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi, can anyone advise me on the state of the New River path. Is it a relatively flat and easy to walk path? I'm interested in doing the Hornsey to Islington section which I believe will take around 2 hours. I plan to bring a friend who is just a little unsteady on her feet and so likes a relatively flat walking path. Would you recommend the path? Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks!

Hi, I walk the section from finsbury park to islington a lot. It's fairly flat but can get muddy in a few spots, the bit between Finsbury park & seven sisters road is the worst but you can go around it. The cafe in the sailing club by the East Reservoir is nice & also the new one in the West Reservoir wetland centre. Enjoy.

Thank you so much Lucy! :)

The Hampden Road to Wightman but is level and broad though a little steep and muddy after rain at the Wightman exit. There are narrow swing gates at either end. If you're lucky you should see some beautiful dragonflies hovering at this time of year

Thank you so much Michael!

That stretch is fairly easy walking, though the section through The Ladder isn't currently accessible. Probably better to start at the north end of Finsbury Park and do the slight detour around Woodberry Wetlands to make up the extra distance. Beware of cyclists who aren't very good at reading 'no cycling' signs.

Thank you so much Chris!
