Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi everyone, I am getting married this August (very last minute planning here!) and originally we were going to do it in Richmond, where my family now lives. However... I know there are some places in North London that are equally as beautiful and with much better transport for guests who can't be bothered to travel to Richmond.!!

So does anyone know of any really nice but very small (no more than 15-20 people) venues where we can get married, where we can have the actual ceremony? In Haringey or just North London in general. I'm looking for ceremony venues only at the moment, we are having our own bbq/party for the reception. (hopefully the home bbq idea gives you a picture of how small we want the wedding to be!)

And yes, I have looked at the Haringey website but their registry office and approved venues don't really take our fancy!

Hornsey Church Tower ? The oldest building in Hornsey. I can ask if marriages are possible.

If you just want a venue for the ceremony itself, Islington Town Hall is really nice....
I went to a wedding a few years ago in Sutton House in Homerton.

The Old Church, Clissold Park ?

The church is lovely. I think Clissold House is an authorised venue too.
I think you can do it at the pump house on the reservoir, behind the castle climbing place
Wow thanks everyone for replying, these places all look great!

John D - Hornsey Church Tower looks perfect...!! I can't believe I've walked past so many times and never really took any notice, it's beautiful. Could you ask about the possibility of a wedding? If they're not licensed to hold a ceremony, would they consider us having a simple marriage blessing in the tower after we marry, if we can marry at the church, it's something we would consider. However a civil ceremony would be best followed by a blessing... I personally don't want the whole shabang of a church and religious service.

I did also consider The Old Church however it appears they're not licensed to hold ceremonies but do hold receptions. I've made a similar enquiry with them - if we were to have our ceremony in Clissold House, could we have a brief marriage blessing in the Old Church afterwards.

Michael A - Sutton House looks great, I never knew it existed! I'm sure I walk around with my eyes closed lol!

Antoinette - Islington Town Hall is on our list... And the local area is great I'm sure we can book a lovely dinner/bar in Angel.

Jessica and Lauren - Woodberry Wetlands did pop in to my head a little while ago but we're not sure... I used to walk through there every morning with my dog but I think I'll make am enquiry to see what they offer for weddings. If the weather was good it would actually be a really lovely relaxed wedding!
I think Hornsey Church Tower has melted my heart... ♥
For Hornsey Church Tower (800 years old), Google the Friends of Hornsey Churchtower.

Ally Pally has rooms of different sizes, with reception at Cufos next door, or you could try Bruce Castle.

Also the West Reservoir behind the Castle Climbing Cente on Green Lanes hosts weddings and I know you can have barbecues.

Good Luck

Burgh House in Hampstead is lovely.
