Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Rape in Ducketts Common at 9pm on a Saturday night. Drug dealing throughout the passage in the middle of the day today. What can we do to stop this free-for-all???

Well I don't know what else we can do except stay alert and report anything we do see to the Police. I had to pick up a used syringe in the Passage just recently and dispose of it.

It will get just as bad as we let it. Pillory all the narcotapologists who say " ffs it's only a bit of cannabis "

Report every thing. Ignore those who say we mustn't post about crime because it makes the area sound bad and will affect the price of our houses.

Join and be active in your Neighbourhood Watch.

Harry your councillors. Ask them what THEY are doing about crime.

John, is there a neighbourhood watch group in our road that you know of?

There is also a Friends of Ducketts Common.

Thank you!

I feel like a broken record calling 101 all the time. Cameras in the passage and commons=expensive, more police=expensive, the safety and security of our friends and families= priceless. What is council tax for again? Sorry, I'm confused.

Council tax is to pay for retired residents' Freedom Passes, rubbish collection and statutory obligations of the council.

Thanks

Excuse me!  The largest single item in the Council's budget is social care services. And what about schools, parks, children's centres ?

Jealousy of the Freedom Pass is understandable given the extortionate cost of public transport in this city. But don't exaggerate!

I think there is a Hampden Rd one but in all the 15-odd years I've been here I have never been aware of any activity. Ms Syddell should have a list of coordinators.

John,

What was it like around here 15 years ago? What do you envision it to be like in 5-10 years? Just curious

Mama, I'm 73 years old. I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning

And I'll be lucky to be around in 5-10 years

Hehe!
