Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Don't pretend I'm the only nerd who sat in front of the box at 6 this evening to find out who it is. Bit of a surprise but I'm willing to give him a chance...provided they start writing decent episodes again. Might be a blessing that Russell T is off to pastures new and Stephen Moffat takes over.

Was I the only one who thought the Christmas special was awful (special effects aside)?

who?
seriously though.. I'm from the first doctor generation.. a certain William Hartnell *1908 +1975
and I can remember very well, watching the first episode on TV...

This shot, which I like a lot, is from that time:

Intending passengers at Shepherds Bush Green

For the bus nerds.. RM525 was a HL (Hanwell) vehicle...
I found this interesting (nerd alert)
The beginnings of Doctor Who
I really like that there are more nerds and gay people in London than anywhere else I could think of living.

Anyway, the nerdiest website on the internets had something to say about it too. Just in case you're interested.
John, that site is nerd heaven.
Thank you very much for directing me to something else that will prevent me from getting off line :D
I found the christmas special completely confusing although I do like David Morrisey who would make a brilliant Doctor dont you think?
matt smith is weird looking - reminds me of lux interoir of the cramps!
however, after the empty child, blink and the silence in the library, i have come to trust moffat's judgement!.... after all i thought david tennant was an odd choice when he has picked and now he is up there with tom baker for me!
what we really need is a pub in the area that will show the episodes on the big screen instead of all the football and sport!
I think slightly odd looking leads are in vogue at present (seen the chap playing the young lead in Demons on ITV?) but it will be interesting to see how he plays it given the Doctor's 900 year old self has been given the body of someone in their late 20s. As you say, Stephen Moffat has shown excellent judgement up until now, no reason to doubt it now.

I agree that I was not convinced by David Tennant after the excitement of having Christopher Eccleston take on the role, but he is certainly housewife's choice now. I've always had a soft spot for the Patrick Troughton years (you never forget your first Doctor Who).

I'd love to join the Dr Who appreciation Soc (Harringay branch) in a pub to watch the episodes but I don't think fellow Dr Who fan Mr E would appreciate it :)
Nope. I did too. And more importantly, so did niece.
