Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Some sad news: They're finally giving up - Yassar Halim next door are going to take over the running of the shop, and from what I understand may knock through. I might be wrong about that bit though.

It will still be a newsagents though, but now run by the Yasser Halim people.

Ray's wife will still be working there though, so friendly service is guaranteed still.

I wonder if they will give up the newspaper delivery service?
I know there is still a skeleton service for loyal and the older customers. My neighbour still has his delivered from there.
pop in and tell them how much you'll miss them - I am sure they'd love to hear it!
We'll really miss them too, lovely folk. Does anyone know when they are finishing there?

Personally, I'd far rather an extension to the Halim enterprise than some of the obvious alternatives (another betting shop or kebab shop anyone!!).
Oh no! With such good cheer they have supplied Beanos for the last ten years, through which my children learnt to read. Mind you I have been wondering how to suggest it might be time to break the habit.
They did assure me it was going to remain a newsagent's so DavidJ's kids can possibly continue with the Beanos for another 10 years. :D
Yasser Halim clearly lied to Ray's. It's gone as I feared - no more news agent's - but more of the rude Yasser Halim shop. :(
Why rude?
because they ARE. I have no idea why they feel the need to be, but they are. And I do not appreciate it.
Ray's should have moved across the road to that closed down bakery.
I talked to younger Ray the other day - they are still planning to help Yasser Halim set up a newspaper stall sometime in january. They seemed to have no business interest in it however.
It does state on the new signs and blinds "Newspapers", so I would imagine some sort of Newsagent, albeit a poor selection when they've completely finished.
