Affordable van man/woman for Ikea delivery

Can anyone recommend someone reliable who could collect a bookcase (and me) from Ikea Edmonton and deliver it to my house on the ladder? I'm loathe to pay Ikea £35 to deliver it when it only costs £25 in the first place. Especially when the earliest they can deliver is in 10 days!

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

There is a taki rank actually In the ikea store I have used them before and they are really reasonable
Failing that depending how quick you wanted to go, I need to go too and will hire a zip van..could share the cost of hire??
Would have to be after work that's all as I don't have weekend cover...I would pick you up as well.

That's very kind of you. I would only be able to go next Monday or Tuesday because I'm on holiday after that. If that works for you it would be great but no worries if not.

Re: the taxi rank, I've also used them before but when I was there last week I couldn't see it. You used to be able to order a taxi from inside the store but now Ikea are doing their own deliveries everything seems to have been moved about. I thought maybe Ikea were trying to get rid of the competition, but perhaps they've just moved the taxi desk somewhere less visible!

Hi Victoria next week on those days doesn't work for me as I am away too...the taxi rank is where customer service is people taking things back at the back of the store. They still did it last time I was there and IKEA were doing deliveries.
You could also try UBER!

Maybe not for you this time, but I can recommend this company having used it and been amazed such a service exists- but only worth it for more than one item or more value as they charge £50 for up to 5 items. They buy your items with their own cash up to £1000, bring them to your house, you pay them with cash or credit card and they give you the original receipt. I got same day service when I used it on a Sunday. Saves you going to IKEA at all- result! www.transportmasters.co.uk
