Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Painting skirting board without getting paint on the laminate flooring.

Hey everyone, 

So I've managed to lay some laminate flooring in a room and then laid a new skirting board around the whole room so i do no need a thin laminate trim around the old skirting to cover the holes. i wish to paint the new skirting - does anyone know of any products or could offer advice as to how i can paint the skirting without getting paint onto the laminate flooring?

Good tip! will definitely keep this in mind, and haha! oh and i thought thats what you are supposed to paint skirting board with? is there another paint which would be better? Thanks.

Satinwood or eggshell gives a much nicer finish than gloss.

They're easier, but nicer is a matter of taste.

Quite right John, apologies for having an opinion. Ironically I initially wrote 'better' but edited in nicer instead as I thought someone would argue something else is better... :)

Isn't gloss tougher, or is that an illusion?

Gloss is a lot easier to clean and the light reflected brings the contours of the woodwork to life. Matt is flatt

Depends on the eggshell. They say that pure brilliant white in gloss tends to go yellow in a few years where as the water based eggshell doesn't.
