Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi there,
As every time I use a bike shop I seem to be left broke and unsatisfied, I thought I'd ask on here and see if anyone does this stuff independently of one!

I'm based on West green Road, and looking for someone who can help with the following:
+Install new Avid BB5 brake calipers and cables - discs and brake levers still on place - onto my Kona Sutra tourer.
+Change tyres and inner tubes on my single speed knock about bike.

Obviously happy to pay - just get annoyed how much shops wanna charge when you haven't bought the parts from them!

Kind of the same if you take car parts to your garage...they won't be happy as they want to source the parts themselves to be sure of the quality. This work can take quite a long time to carry out and is subsequently quite pricey. I am no expert but use Youtube as many of the procedures are shown in detail. The UK vids are the best as the Yanks just talk and talk and talk...

I would perhaps argue it's more about profit margins than quality! Unfortunately buying half decent parts in bike shops is crazy expensive! So busy currently that I'm not really in a place to be learning to do it all myself, so will just swallow the cost if I have to!

Its a bit out of the way but the bike shop on Chapel Market in Islington might be able to help. He does all my bike bits for me. 020 7278 1631

Try asking the Haringey Cycling Campaign group for leads.  Also Harringay Cyclists, and here is a thread with recent updates (note: Two Wheels Good mentioned there has closed).

Hi there could I suggest micycle on corner of Ferme Park Road  and Stapleton Hall Road  . So just over the Harringay station bridge and you are almost there. I do know one of the young ( to me!) guys there . However I believe  they are a pretty decent bunch, not expensive and are flexible. . Of course they know a lot too - and you can get a good coffee .

Try Jon at the castle climbing centre... in the little hut on the left as you turn off the main road. By far the most reasonably priced and reliable/efficient mechanic I've found round these parts...

Hi Gus, I feel the same as you do, and
