Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Dangerous driver / brick attack in St Anne's area this morning

Did you witness a young black male driving dangerously in a silver coloured car (possibly a Toyota - registration number starting OY11) this morning? Did you see him launch a brick at another car damaging the tailgate? Or, maybe you know this person?

If so please call the local police or private message me. My boyfriend is very shaken following this attack on his way to work today, and it has caused considerable damage to his car.

Sorry to hear that Lauren. Hope Alan is ok.

Thanks Justine, I'm just glad he wasn't seriously hurt. Makes you wonder what sort of person goes around doing this to people and what else they are capable of :-/

Something like that sounds quite deliberate - a case of mistaken identity perhaps?

No, not at all, the perpetrator cut him up at a junction spontaneously then hurled abuse at him but instead of leaving it there he followed him menacingly for a while and then subjected him to the attack. There was no suggestion that it was deliberate or that it was anything other than road rage.

Anyone who knows Alan knows he is very mild mannered and has a non-threatening appearance and he was really scared by the menacing nature of this individual and what he was going to do to him.

I notice as a passenger in this car that because it is a very small car, knuckle-heads in bigger cars seem to think they have the right to just drive out of junctions in front of it. He had another person cut him up on the north circular last year and the person pulled over in traffic, got out and kicked the car side panel in. These maniacs shouldn't be on the road and the police should do more with CCTV footage to catch and punish them.

Yikes. I can see how that would shake him up.  Really hope the police follow it up.

I must admit I find a lot of the driving in Haringey very scary.  I worked in the borough for a while and had to drive for work, it was a terrifying experience.  Then last year I moved from central London.  I don't have a car and don't want to get one! Just crossing the road is bad enough.

On a lighter note, I got an Uber home the other night.  Someone overtook us and the car in front on the inside, using the bus lane and driving well above 30.  My Egyptian driver said "it's these immigrants, coming over and driving badly"!

(I will not repeat this story in the Love TV thread)

ps the vehicle I drove for work was a white van.  I can't recommend that over a small car unfortunately.

There are plenty of cameras on the route I am sure this person has taken, so I wold imagine that it would be fairly straight forward to review various CCTV footage about that time to establish what the full reg, and hence who the individual is!

Hope Alan is ok, he does not have much luck with that car!

Ah you're talking about his old one, this is a new (to him) one. This is the damage to the tailgate. He's lucky it didn't go through the window

Blimey. Some people have too much red meat in their diet....

Hopefully the police will catch him before he kills somebody.

Yes, take a walk down there and make a note of every CCTV camera in the area. Then make a subject access request:https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/cctv/. Worth doing it within 24 hours to, as some places don't keep CCTV that long...

Thanks I will tell him. Don't the police check them?
Ok, so can Alan ask for footage if himself as the subject, and the perpetrator will also be on the images?
