Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The road outside my flat is so bad, the entire building shakes every time the buses and HGVs go over it. It's like an earthquake every night. I have new cracks appearing, as it seems to be getting worse. Is there anything that we can do about this? I know the problem has been reported several times over the last couple of years, but no repairs are scheduled.

Well, reported to whom - local councillor, Highways dept, both?

Hi Gordon, sorry just back home. The previous owners contacted 'the council' several times, apparently, but who precisely, or which department, I don't know.

Sounds like it isn't just you who's affected: if you and your neighbours above/below/left/right all collectively contact your local councillors then you've the best chance of something sticking, particularly when there's often roadworks scheduled late in the Apr-Mar financial year in case funds are available. Also, when work starts on the nearby Sainsbury's development, any existing road surface faults are going to degrade more quickly - another point worth making perhaps. Good luck!

Thanks very much, Gordon. That's really helpful. Jx
