Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Starting near the top of Green Lanes but not including David's Schmitz's crossing at Mount View Ct:

Park Rd Pedestrian Crossing

There is no phase but 15 seconds to cross including 8 seconds of flashing orange for the traffic and if you press the button right away, 8 seconds before you can cross again.

Colina Rd

No pedestrian phase but a long phase for crossing Colina Rd itself.

Salisbury Promenade

130 seconds total phase, 15 seconds total pedestrian time. (Traffic right turn into St Ann's, 9 seconds).

Warham/Salisbury

130 seconds total phase, 18 seconds total pedestrian time but 110 seconds to cross Salisbury.

Paul Simon Pedestrian Crossing

45 seconds phase, 20 seconds to cross but 12 seconds against flashing orange for traffic.

Bianca Pedestrian Crossing

130 seconds phase, 15 seconds to cross.

The Bianca one takes far too long, it's really dangerous, I see people giving up and trying their luck all the time. Who can we ask/petition about having all these set to change on demand?

What about junction of WGrd and Green Lanes? No pedestrian lights or buttons at all!

Yeah that's a real life game of Frogger

Whilst I can't comment on the phasing of the Pedestrian lights on Green Lanes this seems to be a problem throughout London. TfL seem to be more interested in keeping the traffic flowing at the expense of the pedestrian. Little or no consideration seems to have been given to the needs of older or less able people. My suggestion is that a minimum of 30 seconds should be the default setting which could be extended at longer or more complex crossings. This could reduce the number of accidents.
Thanks for timing these John. I have made a complaint to Haringey Council (via the phone app) about the crossing by Bianca. I agree with Jono's comments below - waiting at a crossing for over 2-mins means that people (myself included) take risks. Who else can/ should we alert this to to bring about change?
Thanks

"Paul Simon Pedestrian Crossing 45 seconds phase, 20 seconds to cross but 12 seconds against flashing orange for traffic."

So effectively thats 8 seconds to cross before the traffic zooms off.

It's also worth noting (and I've confirmed this many times) that the Bianca crossing often 'forgets' that you've pressed the button, particularly when crossing from W to E. I've watched it as the red circle around the button switches off, without there having ever been a green man - it can do it twice in a row.
I've no idea why it does this, and whether it is linked to where you stand - is it deciding that no-one is waiting?

An update on the Bianca crossing forgetting you have pressed the button (after you've waited for>10 secs with a lit up button, then it switches off, having never done the green man.)

It can't be because it doesn't 'see' people waiting - it happened this afternoon with 4 people & a buggy waiting, well distributed along the pavement.

Agree about Bianca crossing. I’ve eaten my take away pizza before I’ve gotten across the road.

What about…

1) The “crossing” between McDonalds and Sainsbury’s petrol station. I’ve nearly been run over on that one. Motorists just don’t stop.

2) When you’re crossing Green Lanes in front of McDonalds, and you’re on the island going to the west side of Green Lanes. The phasing of the lights mean that you get the green cross signal whilst motorists are still turning right out of the shopping centre, right across where you’re walking.

Sounds like it needs a bit of think.
