Just to let people know that this work's been cancelled - apparently this is because the Council failed to put up parking suspension notices. Work will be done before the end of the financial year...

So all those workmen who turned up with diggers and road rollers on Monday morning had a day's holiday at taxpayer's expense?

... Even worse than that. They wasted a lot of money repainting white lines on the road a few weeks ago. (incidentally they painted white lines and markings in the wrong places - painting a 'disabled' bay where there had not been one in years - then had to come back again to black it out).
