Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Having had the racket from the accordion player under the railway bridge wafting into our garden all day as usual, I went out to catch the bus and found another one sitting outside Barlcay's Bank. I've also seen an accordionist outside the Salisbury this week.

I know people have to live, and I'm not against busking (I've done it myself!) but I don't understand how they are allowed to stand and play there all day long. It's not pleasant to have to listen to it non-stop, and I'm sure if they were begging they'd be moved on pronto.

So the council paid to transfer ownership?  Ah.... it just reinforces the reasons why I'm never voting Labour in this borough.

I know about the £3 thing, I'm after bulk access.  Once I find enough, I set these guys loose on it http://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/

I think they were council houses. If not that, then housing association - most of the other houses in Suffield Rd are HA's.

Try asking your investigator chums if they can find the minutes where the £1.5million bung was agreed. This was ££ from The Bridge New Deal for communities, a ten-year project administered separately from the Council. Run by some local councillors, Lammy, + local non-electeds. It was wound up about 3-4 years ago, its work over. It re-drew the original boundary of the target area to be able to include Wards Corner.

Coincidentally The Bridge popped up here today, they seem to still have a role around The Laurels.

I'm giving up on this discussion forum - the font is much too small and not particularly attractive

I am SO pleased that someone else has brought this up. To the people saying that the accordion players are having to scrape a living, you do know that they are NOT homeless? The council have confirmed this. Also to the person that said they were 'musically proficient'...genius! I assume that was a joke? They play THE SAME SONG, for 12 hours, very loudly and very (very!) badly. In fact, even to say it's the same song is generous: it's the same three chords.....for 12 hours. Fine if you're just wandering past...NOT fine if you are within earshot and trying to work or sleep or spend quality time with your family. Imagine if, every Saturday and Sunday, someone came into your flat and put a CD on with just one song....and played it all day - you couldn't turn it off or turn it down. Do NOT tell me that would not drive you mad. It's great that the Broadway is lively and buzzy and vibrant; I would never complain about 'people noise' or traffic (or even occasional, tuneful, buskers!), because obviously I knew that was part of the package when I moved in - but this is noise pollution and it is NOT fair on residents.

Thought this was just a Green lanes problem, but we had an accordion player  on West Green rd for about 6 hours straight on Sunday, not pleasant!
