Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

There was a lively demonstration in support of the people of Gaza today with about 300 people marching from Ducketts Common to Haringey Civic Centre, with many joining as the demo passed through Wood Green shopping city.
A national "Demonstration for Gaza" is being called for Saturday 9th August, if anyone has the details please post.

Really? take a look at Gaza pre 2005 and see for yourself. Why is Israel the only middle east country to grant Palestinians citizenship? Why do Jordan, Egypt and Syria all refuse Palestinians refugee status? After 2005 where's the millions of dollars given to Hamas to create infrastructure? Good luck to the poor Palestinians left in Gaza to fall prey to the booby traps left for them by Hamas. Jump on the liberal left bandwagon of skewed ideology and underlying anti-semitism without knowing anything. Maybe go to Israel on your next 2 week hol and see for yourself.

"They left GAZA in 2005". Yes they left Gaza with a big wall aound with a few checkpoints controlled by Israel and a blockade so that boats can only fish up to 6 miles from land. Palestinians are in a prison.The blockade means that there are no goods, no jobs and no freedom to move outside of Gaza.
50% of people in Gaza are under the age of 18.
70% of Gazans are women and children.

Take a look at Gaza pre 2005? Why not take alook at Palestine pre 1948? "Why is Israel the only middle east country to grant Palestinians citizenship?" This statement beggars belief. When hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees and immigrants arrived in Palestine it was not an empty country, there were Arab Palestinians and Jewish Palestinians and Christian Palestininians etc....Are you saying that Arab and Christian Palestinians who lived in Palestine, now Israel, should not have citizenship of their country.

To accuse people of anti- semitism is not helpful. The policies of the Israeli state are not supported by all jews. It is completely possible for people to oppose those Israeli policies without being anti semitic.
The people of Gaza are trapped in a large 'prison', their situation is untenable, unless this changes what are the options for peace.

The only path to peace is through a two state solution. If you veto that as a possibility, you veto peace. Israel has the right to exist and In the same token Palastine must also be given the same right. From there, many peaceful paths start to open. Economics can bring peace there on after.
To think where we are, a nation incarcerated, is the best situation possible, is to think like a fascist.
