The 3rd Harringay Festival has been set for Sunday 28th September 2014 on Green Lanes in Harringay.
This year's theme will be Film, Food and Fun. The Harringay Film festival will start with an Open-air showing of ET at Fairland Park on the Sat 13th September, followed by a number of pop-up cinemas leading up to the main event.
The fun element will be played out at the end of the Food Festival. Green Lanes will be turned into a play street of 'water melon run', tug of peace and much more fun activity whilst the road is still closed to traffic!
The road closure this year will be extended beyond St Ann's juction to Allison Road, where the insect hotel is located. This extension to the north of the high street will feature the Salisbury music stage whilst the southern end of Green Lanes will be The Old Ale music stage. No doubt the team will be looking for a headline act (to be confirmed)
It is hoped that the event will feature a climbing wall, a film marquee, new 'Taste of Istanbul' which will feature live cooking demo, regional specialties, cakes, desserts and wine tasting, and lots of children's activities.
The main food village will house the 100+ stalls. You can expect cuisines from around the world, including paella, curries, jerk chicken, hog roast, nachos, kimchi, burgers, wraps, dumplings, sushi, crepes, donuts, ice cream, smoothies, cheeses and more.
And how about this year's logo! I'm liking it.

An open-air showing of " ET " ?
Hasn't everybody on the planet seen this film ? Is there nothing more relevant to London or even Haringey, than a cutesy American movie?
Was that why Hugh was enquiring about Oscar winners with London backdrops ?
Can you put me in touch with any of the organisers on the music side?
Mine is an 80s accappella choir.... couldn't be more different!!
Huh? Surely this was cancelled?! Very confused right now!
It is now cancelled, but not when I posted back in March.
Because the person I was replying to posted only days ago in relation to the Festival with a post which suggested - at least to me - that the Festival was on again.
