Curry House for Green Lanes

I have long said that the only thing GL is missing (and I mean really missing) is a good curry house. We have Jashan at Turnpike Lane, and it is a worthy curry house- even when the schlep up there is considered, but nothing at this end of the Ladder.

So, I was intrigued to see the following planning application noted in the recent LCSP minutes:

473 Green Lanes, N4 

-          Permission has been granted for change of use from A1 (formerly used as storage for the adjacent Raise My Voice charity shop) to A3 (Indian Restaurant).

So, are we about to see a curry house on the southern end? Be still my beating heart!!!

We had a Chinese from that place on GL a couple of weeks ago and were convinced it was Iceland ready meals. I went the following day to complain but it was shut and never got round to going again.

Is that the place next to the Salisbury? If so I am surprised it took so long to go under. I went in there with the kids once and it was just awful! A Vietnamese café would go down very well I reckon.

I suspect it was my own fault. I had the kids (flying solo) for the weekend. It was a hot day and the place was steaming hot, the plastic furniture gave way under one of my kids ending her spilling onto the floor. Sadly I just did not enjoy it.

I vote for the Vietnamese cafe if anyone is reading. Good banh mi, pho and viet noodle salads (bun thit nuong etc) would be amazing. We gave crepanini a shot but werent impressed and didn't go back. Maybe the sweet crepes were better than the savoury?

Crepanini's gone? Dang, that is a shame. Some of the best crepes I've had outside of France came from there :(

Curry House or  'Indian' restaurant?

The Garden Ladder used to be one of the above.

Angela is right the Garden Ladder, as was, used to be an Indian restaurant. When we fist moved in we used it quite a lot and it was ok. It would be great to see some variation on Green Lanes but as they say: 'if you don't use it, you'll lose it!'
