Otherwise known as local residents and small businesses shafted by Govt to make way for huge corporation which makes millions in profits but still expects the public purse (aka taxpayers money) to pick up the cost ... necessary for the development to go ahead. While said corporation has transferred ownership of the land / properties to an offshore tax haven, so the public purse is unlikely to see any benefit from profits made via the new development.
Alex, you've left out many other huge advantages. For example those of us who live not too far from the ground will have the honour to become Spurs extended carpark.
Zena and I went to Manchester to take a look at Eastlands where the Etihad Stadium is located. The area has a splendid, enormous new Asda, a Next and a MacDonalds. There are carparks in every direction.
This is such an obvious, logical and guaranteed way to achieve "regeneration" and for everyone to live happily ever after, that I'm perpetually mystified why the Dear Leader hasn't proposed it for Muswell Hill.
