Painter/ Handyman required, N8 - any good recommendations for someone who won't let you down?
Hello,
I am hoping someone will be able to pass on a good recommendation of trusty workmen.
We moved to the area last year and are in need of a good reliable person for some repainting that we need doing in our flat in Crouch End (N8). I write this after waiting three hours for a contractor to turn up (passed on as a recommendation from an estate agent) who still hasn't arrived.
Our ceiling is badly damaged following a leak from the flat above. I'd just like someone honest, reliable and efficient to come and repaint the problem area - am getting no where on MyBuilder. I'm at home with my baby boy and it's hard to keep him cooped up all day waiting for someone to come, so if there's someone you can recommend that we can trust with a set of keys if I need to take him out, that would be wonderful. It's likely we'll have more jobs popping up, so it would be really great to know there is someone we can turn to.

Nick Roche did the painting for our bedrooms and hallway/stairs. Very reliable and trustworthy (we gave him keys). Reasonable charges. If you search on here you'll find other recommendations. His number is 07906349565.

Thank you Rebecca - I did try Nick last week but he must be busy as didn't hear back yet. And thank you too Jonny, Greg has been brilliant in responding very quickly and is coming round tomorrow. Richard, I'm waiting on Greg's quote but will for sure keep you in mind for the future, we have quite a few things that need doing.

Hello, I would like to recommend a female painter and handy person.
Her name is Emma and she painted my front door as well as my outside windows and did some other small odd jobs around the flat.
Very reliable, professional and trustworthy.

Hi Justine, that's the only number I had. He had been brilliantly communicative and confirmed he would come round the following morning but then didn't turn up and didn't respond to any texts or phone calls. If it was a phone problem that might have explained it but never heard from him after that. I did however find a wonderful decorator called Francesca who has been fantastic and gone above and beyond on this particular job. Happy to pass on her number if you would like it.

Greg has gone quiet on me too - after coming around to give me a quote I've had no response. I suspect he is very busy as a result of getting so many good recommendations here!

Thanks so much-I've been away so apologies for my tardy reply. I've just seen that Greg posted something saying his phone was stolen so that explains things... in the meantime I would welcome your decorator's number as we've had one guy quote (recommended by a neighbour) and it would be good to compare prices

I know a very good painter and decorator who has done a lot of work in my house over the past few months to get it ready for selling. However, I hear he is now busy until September.
