Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

What movie should we show for the Fairland Park open air movie in September?

This discussion thread is now closed, please go vote.
At a FoFP meeting this evening we were talking about what to show for the open air movie at Fairland Park on the 13th of September.
Opening that up for wider input - please suggest some movies you think would be good? It needs to be rated PG or lower, and appeal to both children and grownups.

Any suggestions?

Starter for 10, from a quick google of films for adults and kids, haven't seen all of them but would be happy to..

Harry Potter (1st one)
Star Wars (1st original one)
Kiki's delivery service, Spirited away - or some of the other Studio Ghibli films that are more child friendly
Up
Who killed roger rabbit
The Karate Kid
Sound of Music (too long?)
Despicable me

If anyone is wondering, we have already shown Grease, Mama Mia, Back to the future and Hairspray, so they aren't really an option.

ET.

Or Howl's Moving Castle.

I second those choices.

I wondered about this (Howl ) but thought maybe a bit scary? Love those Studio Ghibli films personally!

Gill at the meeting Ant mentions suggested ET so should have included on the list - only issue here was length, is quite long. Certainly an option though.

Let's have a British film - not American Hollywood crap :)

Ok which would you suggest John?

St Trinians ?

The Titchfield Thunderbolt ?

The Railway Children

( bit of a train theme emerging here but maybe not Trainspotting  )

Oliver ! , of course

Little Miss Sunshine?

Up, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music
Mary Poppins would be great actually!
'Over the Hedge' every time...

If it's an outdoor showing - 'Cinema Paradiso' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stLekU5BnbI
