Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Thank you Harringay

Just a short message to say thank you to all residents in Harringay who have supported me over the last 8 years. It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to serve you. David, Asha, Carolyn Baker, Chris Ford and I can be rightly proud of what we have achieved here. Congratulations to our successors, I hope they can achieve the high bar we have set.

Thank you Karen , and also David . You both worked really hard on our behalf , it's a shame you are a victim of your leaders. 

I did vote for you but could never do so in a general election as Cleggs stance on education fees and Alexanders view on public sector pensions ,when he wouldn't show the moral stance  and change his own pension scheme to match teachers ,healthcare workers etc is against every bone in my body.

It was a very sad morning in our household when we awoke to local results. To second comments already, well done and thank you for supporting our community so strongly and for always going the extra mile. We really do appreciate it. Very best wishes for the future to you, David, Asha and team.

I was absolutely shocked to see the result. I don't think it's a reflection on local politics at all. Thanks Karen for the hard work on HGVs. I can only hope the new representatives will continue the good work.

Thank you to everyone for your support and kind words, it's a great comfort to know that we are so well thought of and will be missed. I have been overwhelmed with the number of messages in my inbox from so many residents who are so shocked by Thursdays results.

I've cried a lot over the last two days, not just for the loss of our Harringay seats but for for Haringey as a borough. How so many people can leave the guardianship of this borough to the Labour group who have already caused so much damage is beyond belief. Giving the coalition government a bloody nose may be the motivation but all it will do is damage people local - such a shame for so many local people to have lost their hardworking Councillors.

However, what is done is done. Time to get on with the job in hand. Just because I am no longer your elected representative doesn't mean that your have no Libdem team working for you in Harringay ward. Anyone with a problem can contact me on karen.alexander.haringeylibdems@gmail.com and I will continue to help and advise. Anything that needs the attention of a councillor I can pass to our excellent Libdem Councillors in other wards. I often have residents who only want to deal with a Libdem councillor because of our excellent reputation. In other words it's business as usual.

I have 8 years of experience and expertise and I continue to be here to help residents in any way I can.
