Does anyone actually manage to drive over 20mph on Green Lanes between Endymion Rd and St Ann's - the traffic is absolutely at a standstill most of the time ever since they allowed parking in the Bus Lanes! Not at all good for public transport or for our lungs as the pollution must be very high and stagnating - does anyone know what our pollution levels are in Harringay? The bus lanes should be reinstated and parking allowed in the connecting roads in the gardens where no one parks currently.
Also have you seen the state of the road? - I slipped on the crossing the other day and hurt my knee and hip because the non slip surface has been eroded and damaged. Elsewhere the road has buckled and dangerous for bikes and pedestrians.
It's OK, you can make up for it between St Ann's Rd and David Schmitz's pedestrian crossing buy hitting the accelerator and getting up to 50mph. At least that's what everyone seems to do if they don't they stopped at the Colina Rd lights.
The second most polluted street in Haringey unsurprisingly. http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/green-lanes-the-second-...
I'd be amazed if anything is done to fix it though. All of the much vaunted work to make it a nicer place to be recently has really just amounted to a lick of paint whilst ignoring the fundamental problems (although to be fair the original plans, with bright ideas like removing the bus lane to make more parking, wanted to exacerbate the current problems so at least we avoided that).
If parking were banned on green lanes, there would be less traffic (assuming good CPZ rules in adjacent streets).
