I was hit by a motorist yesterday (8th April) at about 18.50 hrs at the junction of Green Lanes and Burgoyne Rd. I have several witnesses but would like to find more (especially the motorist who was just behind me).
I'm OK, just a bit bruised & shaken. 'going to get an x-ray now & then report to the police station.
thanks in advance
Gerry

Sorry to hear this Gerry. Hope the x-ray finds nothing.
A long wait at A&E then no x-ray; just examination: just bruised.
Just for my "defensive cycling" and I'm not trying to say that there was anything you could have done to prevent this but, what were you doing? Going down the inside/outside? 18:50 is still quite light, I had a couple of near misses last night about an hour later.
I must have been there in between the two of you - I saw a couple of near misses as well (and it was still light then), but the traffic was absolutely terrible; I stayed in line for a while but then figured that it was quicker to walk as there was no space to get around either side because of a rail replacement bus that was basically riding shotgun for a 29!
Really sorry to hear about your incident, Gerry - hope you're OK and that you find some more witnesses!
I had cycled down the outside, & stopped at the junction whilst indicating right & waiting for an opportunity to turn off the main road. The car that hit me was turning right out of Burgoyne Road, he actually stopped at the junction (I was right in front of him, about 2 metres maximum of air between us, I had a hi-viz vest on) then pulled out & hit me. After that I went to his window; he had a mobile phone in his hand. A Witness from the pub said he was on the phone when he hit me.
Maybe ask Haringey Cyclists to tweet your witness appeal if you've not done so already?
Hi Gerry
Hope nothing serious done and you recover quickly.
Green Lanes at rush hour is an absolute nightmare for cycling, you're either stuck in primary at the same speed of a bus or occasionally get lucky and can filter past a few cars as the lights change.
The London Cycling campaign point for local councillors is a northbound cycle lane on Green Lanes but, given the huge dominance that prioritising for cars has amongst the decision makers in the area I can't see that happening.
You may find some useful info here What to do in case of an accident
But think of all the money that those motorcars bring into the shops at that time of day!
