Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Following an online spat in the Journal between a Crouch End 'wit' and residents east of the Borough, two unlikely allies in the form of Keith Flett, of Haringey Trades Council, and Justin Hinchcliffe, chairman of Tottenham Conservatives have produced a top ten of Tottenham delights:

1. Tottenham Marshes
2. Bruce Castle Museum & Park
3. All Hallows Church
4. The Bernie Grant Arts Centre
5. The Ferry Boat Inn
6. The Salisbury Hotel
7. Ward's Corner
8. Tottenham Cemetery and Lake
9. Tottenham Green Conservation Area
10. San Marco's restaurant

Anyone think of any more?
St Ignatius Church...
Tottenham Palace..
Sure, I wondered why Keith & Justin didn't put the boat out a bit further to re-colonise T'nham Lane and Court Road.
Which is fine, but (and yup here comes the soap-box), except The Salisbury isn't in Tottenham. It's in Harringay. I don't get why some people insist on using Tottenham to describe the old Borough when it no longer exists. Sure the Salisbury was in Tottenham Borough but it's never been in Tottenham any more than Hewitt Road has ever been in Hornsey. Both are Harringay.
At the risk of getting really 'done', given who drew up the list and what it was in reaction to, are they using as their boundary the Parliamentary constituency of Tottenham, do you think?
I'm sure that mey be why he did it. But there are many others who do the same - the Toottenham First newspaper's another example. The Tottenham Civic Society claim to cover Harringay. There are countless examples. Most are built on the notion of Tottenham Borough that no longer exists.
None of those are enough to persuade me to go to Tottenham..... you'd have to pay me.
Ah, you're wrong Fippo, Tottenham marshes are lovely, Bruce castle Museum (123 bus) is brilliant and does lots of great historical talks and events and the Ferry Boat (stay on the bus) is a 'country pub' within walking distance of the consumer hell of Tottenham Hale.
Fair enough, give me a tenner and I'll go!
Your not related to Catherine Tate are you Fippo?

Haha....that's brilliant! I hadn't seen that before, but I'll admit it was somewhat familiar!
Broad Lane ... great race track at midnight

Markfield Park is lovely; http://www.markfieldpark.org.uk/
