I would like to propose that we set up a 'Friends of the Harringay Passage'.
This crucial 'spine' of the Harringay Ladder has been neglected for too long and maybe a community group will get their voices heard by Haringey Council more effectively than a few individuals.
The aims of the group could be:
- to keep the planters looking nice,
- work with the council to design out fly-tipping hot spots and remove street clutter
- design a Masterplan for making the Passage work better for pedestrians
- street party at the widest section, between Effingham and Fairfax!
Let me know if you are interested, and if enough people are then we could have an inaugural meeting in January.
Regards
Adam

APOLOGIES & CORRECTION FOR MY SURGICAL STRIKE. CLINICAL IN EXECUTION IT WAS NOT! A DEAD DRONE OR MISGUIDED MISSILE WHICH FAILED MISERABLY TO TAKE OUT ITS TARGET.
To John D, Liz, Michael, Therése, Maggie and any others who harboured similar kindly sentiments in my regard:
I attempted a rather poor joke the other day, inspired by a certain local Labour Councillor's need to tell us about her 2nd & 4th Saturday Surgeries.
No, I had my hip replacements eight and five years ago and, fingers and ankles crossed, I hope my current supply of steel and plastic won't cause any probs at the crem.
Thanks, however, for the good wishes and encouragement. It's a bit like pre-announcing my demise so I can enjoy the ohbitcheries!
I hadnt quite worked out the surgeries link, but somehow didn't expect you to advertise a hospital visit on HOL. Glad you are well :)
Ha ha ha ha. You are too clever for us, Eddie. Mind you, I meant what I said about dinner.
It's OK Eddie, I saw your surgical link, you old devil you. Thought the others were playing along! Still keeping that plot for you on little Harringay 'ill in Fairland Park, as requested in one other of many playful conversations some time back in the HOL ether
Many thanks, Liz. We'll make a date of that sometime. A Happy and very Merry Christmas with your family, though I know this year will be a sadder one too.
Alas no, Therése! Unless I can arrange for some infirmieres visiteuses?
Just a quick reminder that there will be a meeting to discuss this idea, next Tuesday (14th January) at 7pm in the Falkland Centre. I hope you can make it

Adam
We understand how difficult it must be for you Karen, especially so close to an election!
Thats' a bit harsh, Dave. Believe me, if Karen's choice were driven by vote catching, I'm sure she'd be pandering to the hundreds who have read this thread rather than the six or so who attend the LCSP. So, let's give the benefit of the doubt and assume that Karen has other things which take a priority in a busy life, eh. (And for the record, mine isn't a politically driven response )
Phil, the selection of candidates won't be confirmed until mid-February so I can't give you an answer until then I'm afraid.
