Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi everyone,

This Sunday there's a kids flea market at Harringay Market from 11am-12.30pm.

There will be 13 kids (youngest is 5, eldest is 12), selling toys, books, clothes and costumes.
They are all very excited and looking forward to it, so please come and support these mini entrepeneurs.
Of course we'll also have all our usual stalls selling great produce, cakes, cheese and charcuterie and yummy food.

See you Sunday!

I still dont know what went on between you and Jessica and believe as customers it is none of our business and that this is no way to sort it out. The way you asked for the "occational plug" was a bit weird don't you think? You are coming across as spiteful and determined to create bad vibes around the kids flea market and the market in general and I am beginning to regret I have ever shopped with you. I shall unfollow this post as well.

I saw the tweet this morning asking for more craft stalls for Harringay Market too and thought it was a bit odd, given that you said Jessica's reason for terminating your arrangement was that she wanted to concentrate on food only.

I think Michelle has every right to be angry that she has been treated this way. I don't think she is being spiteful, her frustration is evident, but she is not being spiteful she just wants answers. How would you feel if you were sacked from your job without notice or reason given, and then you see the same position re-advertised immediately? I know neither Jessica nor Michelle personally, and at first I could see both sides to this, but after seeing the tweet this morning asking for more craft stalls for Harringay Market I can understand why Michelle feels this way. I am not taking sides here, and I have no personal interest in the market, but I believe in treating people fairly and justly and that is not what I see here. Perhaps this is not the right thread for Michelle to voice her frustration, but I think that she has every right to ask for an explanation and to let people know the situation, given that the market gets plenty of free publicity on this site and has used it as a way of garnering support when communicating their own unfair treatment in the past. It seems that the market is a 'community' thing when they want support and a 'business' thing when they want to justify treating someone unfairly. As someone with a fairly balanced view of things here it saddens me the abuse that Michelle is getting from members of the community on this site.

I think Jessica owes Michelle an explanation in private at least, so that this matter may be finally put to rest and both parties can get on with their businesses.

very well said!

Sheesh. I don't at all want to be involved in this poisonous discussion but as it  isrefusing to die and even i am getting private emails about it i feel i must: Jessica is only all of a sudden asking for new craft stalls because the organizers of the Harringay lantern procession have just (last night) asked her to help us have a Christmas night market at the end of the procession this year. I think that could help make it a really wonderful event this year, she was reluctant to be involved after all this just happened so please don't prevent it from happening.

My son is busy tidying up his toys so expect a lot of boys toys and books.

A this thread has been 'hijacked' to continue to air a dispute that is already being discussed on a similar thread, we have decided to close this thread and change the title - the children's market is now advertised on the events page.  While we recognise that feedback on the market is a valid topic, we have asked members to refrain from referring to individuals or airing personal disputes. This has not been respected and so we are closing this thread.
