I think there's a small Thai(?) supermarket opposite Finsbury Park on Green Lanes near the junction with Wightman Rd...But not sure what the quality is like

Lots of Asian food produce in the food market in wood green sloppy shity. X

Try Oriental Express on Green Lanes between the Junctions with Endymion and Hermitage or South and North on Whymark Avenue.

Thai basil can be a bit of an issue around here though.  I have seen it occasionally (but not usually when I want it!) in the small Chinese supermarket at the beginning of Westbury Avenue by Turnpike Lane station.  Worth checking the other larger Chinese shop that nearly backs onto it on Whymark Avenue although I don't think I've seen it there.  Otherwise it's Waitrose on the Holloway Road which now has Thai basil among its fresh herbs.  If anyone can point me to any other reliable sources of Thai basil around here I'd be eternally grateful.  Food Hall on Turnpike Lane is great for an amazing selection of palm sugar/Indian jaggery etc.  I've not tried to buy curry pastes around here so can't help with that.

We get ours from large Tesco. Mae ploy curry paste 400g (red or green) £1.80 Tropical sun coconut milk 79p Lemon grass £1.20 Squid brand fish sauce 1 pint £.175 Spices are 10 times cheaper in the 'indian' section, There's at least two 'foreign food' sections that both stock the same thing at different prices so you have to look very very carefully for what you want. Hope this helps.

It's in another borough (boo!) but London Star Night, 203 Mare St E8 is a massive pan-Asian grocer, everything you could possibly need, all the fresh herbs/spices etc. Seems mainly Vietnamese but also have all Thai, I make a lot of things from scratch (when I have time!)

Shop near homebase/hermitage rd is small but very friendly (worth a look, they need/deserve local support) and up in WG shopping city's market the store there is mainly packets and jars, but they do have fresh Tofu. Interesting Sri Lankan takeaway food place next to it too.

I think I once saw a tiny Asian store on Phillip Lane, but I may have dreamt that.

TooTooMoo in crouch end (the advert is to the right) have a small shelf of groceries like palm sugar.
