Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Can anyone recommend a good garage/ mechanic to take a look at our old toyota? There are so many on the ladder am having difficulty deciding where to start.

Hi, I always use G&N garages as my sister recommended them. They're not the cheapest in town but they won't rip you off. I've always asked them to call me before they start work with a quote and they've never failed to do just that, always do the work on the same day and really knowledgable. I trust them with my 16 year old rust bucket - they do just what's needed to keep it on the road for me while I save up for a new one! Google them for the number as I can't find it right now.

Andover Motors are excellent. We've been using them for 20 years. Reliable, trustworthy and very good value for money. Tel 0207 354 1953

You can't go wrong with John in St Andrews Grove N16.  He has been looking after my old cars for decades!  Very honest.  8802 2164.

Cranleigh Garage are absolutely amazing, they beat any price I've seen and the work's top notch.

Startec Motors in Brook Road N22, by the Chocolate Factory have been brilliant with my 20 year old car. The first time I took it there it wasn't running well. Took it in on Friday, when I went to collect it, they said they'd replaced a few bits and pieces but wouldn't accept any payment at the time. Told me to take it away, drive it for the weekend to see how it was and pop in on Monday to settle the bill!

Drove much better and the bill when I popped back in was £40. Haven't used another garage since, and also found out that most of the workers in the Chocolate Factory also use them.

Another recommendation for G&N on Whiteman Road.

Friendly, efficient and often inventive when it comes to dealing with my 27 year-old Peugeot 205, for which spare parts are getting increasingly scarce.....

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice everyone it was very helpful. We ended up going to G&N who rescued our poor old car from failing its MOT.
