Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Any idea whether the upcoming regeneration work on Green Lanes between Manor House and Turnpike Lane will have an impact on the constant noisy flow of emergency vehicles? I'm assuming the elevated slow bays will mean they won't be able to speed along Green Lanes all sirens screaming all day and night like they are currently enjoying...

Did someone say they were opening up "The Gardens" to take the strain?

Let's be fair, folks: the emergency vehicles use Green Lanes because it is one of the main north-south routes around here. You have to go east to Tottenham High Road to find another, and to the west the only nearby alternative is Wightman Road, which comes to a grinding halt when it runs up against Finsbury Park. The streets we have, which were built in the late 19th Century, were never intended for the amount of motor traffic we now have. Given how good the local public transport is, I'm not sure why people need to park cars on Green Lanes, or, indeed, use cars for local shopping.
