Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

I was wondering whether the cafe at Lordship Rec was open yet? I can't find anything on-line that says for certain (including on their website) & it was closed last time I went there a month or so ago.

I did find Haringey's tender document for the cafe though - closing date 17th Dec 2012.

For those of you who haven't been there yet, it's got a mini road system that's great for children (or adults!) learning to cycle & and also new playground (amongst other things).

To answer my own question, it's not open yet unfortunately...

It's a shame, as Lordship Rec is now a really lovely park - with probably the best collection of facilities around, and the cafe would finish it off perfectly.

As you say, it's a shame all the facilities are not up and running for the mythical summer as it really is a beautiful little gem of a park these days.

There are still negotiations going on between the council, the preferred tender and the Friends of Lordship Rec and I think a few things have changed which has led to the delay in opening the cafe. Hope they sort it out soon before the summer's out (if it's not already). Dave Morris is in charge of the Friends group who may know more. His email address is dmorris@onetel.com

Hi,
I know it's ancient post but does anyone know what is happening with the cafe in Lordship Rec?
Just found some info, apparently aim is to start Spring/summer 2014 once the lease is signed

Glad to hear that - it's crazy that there is no café there. I am sure it would do really well.

Glad to see people have picked this up again, we really need people to help get the cafe open this summer, and we have just put a shout out on fundraising site Spacehive!

There's more info on our lovely LREH Co-op website. http://lordshiphub.org.uk/name-cafe/

You can also drop in any Sunday between 12 and 2pm, to find out the latest news or offer to help in all sorts of ways. Come to the Higham Road side of the building, near the kids playground.
