Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm looking for a chord pull curtain rail for a large bay window.  Does anyone recommend a good place to buy one?

B&Q / Wickes / Homebase don't have either long enough ones, flexible or sturdy. It's a right pain to find one that fits and is not impossible to put up. I think I need about 2.8m is length.

Maybe dear old John Lewis have decent ones?

Wilkos up at Wood Green shopping centre doesn't have a bad curtain department,

John Lewis have bendy elbow bits you can use in bay windows, but I've just ordered a pole from polesdirect.com. 3.4m pole with bendy bits, brackets and pass-over rings for £80 delivered. The pole comes in 2 pieces, so you trim either end to fit. They had longer ones too, though your window sounds a similar size to mine. Search bay window pole when you get there.

It hasn't arrived yet, so I can't entirely vouch for quality or ease of installation, but it's on its way, so we'll see.

Shop in Crouch End on Tottenham Lane, they do them. You just take your measurements in and they tell you which one you need. I haven't bought one there as I decided to go for blinds in the end, but they did have them and seemed reasonable price. I got the impression it's not as simple as just buying the right size though and it might need to be fitted by an expert. They seemed quite helpful in the shop so give them a try. I can't remember the name though.

I've got a John Lewis pole (or 3) with bendy bits in my bay window - looks great but was a nightmare to put up. Also wouldn't work with a pull-chord, I don't think...

John Lewis fitted my bay window curtain tracks and new curtains.  Not cheap but better to have experts do it properly than try it by DiY

Reverie Interiors in Hornsey High St put up curtain tracks with cords in 2 of my bay windows. Very helpful and professional. They also made 2 pairs of curtains for me, some time later. Again, properly made. And cheaper than J lewis!

(I did make all the other curtains, including 2 pairs for bay windows, but they're so enormous I ran out of steam...)

There's a specialist curtain shop in Crouch End, which may be able to help (or maybe James Selby).

Hi I am a curtain maker, i am based in the chocolate factory and I can supply and fit tracks and poles as well as make beautiful handmade curtains and roman blinds. I am always happy to give advice on tracks and poles which can indeed be a nightmare to put up and really good tracks which will properly support curtains are hard to find in DIY shops. i am probably a bit late to help you but please get in touch if you need to in the future
