Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I have just be made aware of a small pot of money that may be available for resurfacing roads that are in the greatest need.

Wondered what residents thoughts are about the state of the roads in Harringay ward - are there any which are in a particularly bad state?

I will having a walkabout over the next few days to make my own list but residents views would be much appreciated.

I don't suppose the money could be spent on replacing the York stones stolen from Lothair Road South?

Could it be added to the council's seemingly shallow pot hole repair budget in order to relax their criteria before they'll repair them?

I'll back the pot hole filling. The one currently on Green Lanes (northbound by Mattison Road crossing) is severe enough to cause problems for the busses.

On the wider road resurfacing issue, a job done properly is the way forwards rather than half done botch jobs. But then again councils can't think beyond 5 years max.

Have you reported it, Lee? A photo may help, too. I can't yet see it on the FixMyStreet website.

I haven't as yet. Though on my way back from the gym I did notice that TfL have put up a warning potholes sign just by the overground bridge.

The bottom half of Seymour road was resurfaced relatively recently, but I guess funding ran out half way up the road. If this budget can cover pothole filling, then the top half of Seymour Road is currently festooned with them.

Duckett road needs doing.

Therese, I agree on the bits near humps - Pemberton is the same - below nearly all the humps there are craters where the cars land after going over the humps too fast.  There's no point in fixing them, though - the real solution is to replace the humps with a less destructive traffic calming measure, but that's a different discussion (unless the money could be used for that instead of a bit of patchwork).

Stapleton Hall Road between Oakfield Road and Ferme Park Road is in a dire state with tyre-threatening potholes every few metres.

Oakfield Road railway bridge area is also in need of repair.

But the problem seems to be that pothole repairs are simply not winter-proof. False economy surely?

Surely Green Lanes? As a cyclist I never know if I get home in one piece. It's quite bad round the bridge, most of wholes that have been repaired have collapsed back in. Recently the section of GL in Stoke Newington (Stoke Newington Green to Clissold Park) has been re-surficed and it's a pleasure to go on.

I was really suprised when the section next to Finsbury Park was fixed causing havoc everywhere but nothing else... Surely it would make sense to do the whole section especially as this is a very busy thoroughfare.

Thank you for all the suggestions - keep them coming as I am continuing to comply a list which I will submit to the council at the beginning of next week.
