Thanks. There's loads of useful stuff there, but I actually found it cheaper to go directly to the Hotpoint service department once callout and parts were taken into account.

Great little repair place on Middle Lane, Crouch End. Bill is lovely, he diagnosed our apparently dead fridge over the telephone and told me how to fix it for free... And when he has done other electrical repairs for us we've had no problems. Highly recommend. 0208 340 6048
