Hi there,
We're looking to have some major work done on our house.
Some walls taken down, maybe building an extension.
Could anyone recommend a good builder?

Recently called Dave Keogh to see if he could come round and quote, and he is apparently too busy to take on any work in the next 18 months (so till around Aug 2015 I guess).

I'm very sorry to report that I had a bit of a negative experience with Dave. He came round in April to give me a quote for quite a big repair to the back of my house. I got three quotes, but chose to go with him at the price he quoted so dismissed the others. He told me he would be available to do the work end of July/beginning of August. When I recontacted him at this time he did not bother replying to emails and then eventually said he could not commit to a start date. I then emailed him to ask if he was pulling out of the job altogether although he had said he would do it and he didn't bother replying. I never like leaving negative messages, but this was really annoying as I could have chosen to go with other people who were available and because it is an outside job I had wasted most of the summer waiting for him. He had agreed to do the work at the price he asked for in April and then didn't actually let me know he wasn't going to do it at all....

They will guide you through all the right processes, permits & regulations. They can also help with whatever budget you might have set aside for your project & help you with design & materials.
They were there EVERY STEP of the way to guide us they REALLY DO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! You hear so many BAD HORROR stories out there about cowboy builders ruining peoples homes & not caring.
PRESTIGE BUILDS I can honestly say were brilliant.
We got our loft done from them & the finish is absolutely immaculate. I can't praise them enough for what they achieved with the little budget we had I still am amazed every-time I walk in to my new bedroom with en-suite shower room!! I am very happy with the end result.
I urge anyone who is thinking of doing a simple refurbishment or conversion or even an extension give these lot a try, what you got to lose? it will only cost you a phone call!!
