Hi

Both my daughters (aged 6&9) do gymnastics and have been to gymnastics camp during the holidays and they LOVE it.  The coaches are brilliant and very encouraging.  My 9 year old is now doing gymnastics squads so we spend a lot of time at the Harringay Club (as well as Alexandra Park School where they have a larger gym to do other gym equipment not available at Harringay Club).  She recently competed in the London regional gymnastics competition and the club did very well with a large proportion of the club's kids receiving medals vs other London clubs who might have sent more competitors.  For a small and financially struggling club, we are very impressed with the quality of the gymnastics.

The holiday gym club is great fun.  It isnt gymnastics all the time, the coaches play games with the kids and the best testament is that the kids ask to go back every holidays!!!

They also do adult gymnastics on a Weds night if you are interested for yourself - it was a bit of a laugh trying to do cartwheels and splits after a few decades of not doing it!

thanks for this - are the classes (and the holiday club) quite mixed in terms of gender?

My gut feeling is that its about 80% girls, 20% boys but that varies depending on the age of the children.  One fo the coaches, Alex does coach the boys squad team who are brilliant so there is definitely some encouragement for boys too.

My boy has been doing gymnastics there for over 2 years, he's 5 and half now and in the Infants class. As Michelle says, there is lots of encouragement for boys and they have a really good male coach who the kids really like. Definitely give the classes a go, although they are very popular so depending on the age you may have to join a waiting list at the moment. Think there was a bit of an olympics bump and lots of people signed up in September.

My daughter goes to Gymnastics there on Saturday mornings. The teachers are very good and she loves it.
