Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi. Just had word that we have a pear tree in N15 to pick early next week, just off West Green Road.

We are looking at 10.30 to 12 on Monday morning. I know it is a short notice and a work day, but please let me know if you would like to come along.

We are thinking we might be able to open it up to 2 or 3 more people if anyone is intersted.

Hi. I have not checked my HOL account since yesterday. Details on their way.

I could come too!

I recently discovered that it is legal to pick windfalls from the ground, but otherwise it would be scrumping which is technically illegal unless you have permission from the tree owner. I have been breaking the law for a number of years picking fruit on 'my' side of the fence assuming it was my property! Ancient laws, don't you love 'em?

Possibly if time allows after school stuff, please email details! thanks

I have a pear tree, very large, in Arcadian gdns. if anyone wants them.  07979120176

Thanks to Justin for organising this & everyone else who brought along impressive fruit-picking paraphernalia! C & I had a great time, despite the wet. Now we all need to get busy making pear tarte tatin ...

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, even though I was wounded in the process! It's such a brilliant idea.

Yes, you did rathe take that on the chin quite well Liz (no pun intended). I saw it happen, who would have thought a pear could be such a hazzard. Bike helmets next time!!!

No worries, it was Gemma that did the initial organisation. I will post a little later with some pics when I get them, and I hope a YouTube link to the video we took (if I can get my head around it, having never done it before).

Also, I hope we might have another go at another house north of Wood Green later this week, possibly Thursday if I can organsie it with Jeanette, whos tree we may visit.

I won't be around at the end of this week so can't join you.

I meant to say, I have a hessian sack that I took my pears home in, but I am not sure who it belongs to. I'd like to return it, so if the owner could send me a private message (or connection request) with an address then I'll bike it over.

Ths sack belongs to Gemma, but she seemed quite happy for you to keep it an make use- I believe someone gave them to her originally so she is not too possessive about them!
