Two prizes will be awarded: Prize for Best Prose Translation and for Best Poetry Translation. The winning translations will be chosen by a panel of expert judges including Maureen Freely (distinguished writer and translator), Daniel Hahn (Programme Director, British Centre for Literary Translation), Mevlüt Ceylan (Yunus Emre Institute, London), Susanna Nicklin (Director Literature, British Council), İlknur Özdemir (publisher and translator, Kırmızı Kedi Publishing), Tarık Günersel (Head of PEN, Turkey).

The winners will receive a specially tailored translation mentorship organised and designed by the British Centre for Literary Translation. The mentorship will focus on prose and poetry translation.*Please note that for the prose mentorship, the mentor for the winning entrant will be Maureen Freely (translator of Orhan Pamuk). There must be a lot of local talent. Any way that the message can be sent out more widely? I've read some of Maureen Freely's magnificent work and we surely have a local Turkish writer who can match her achievements.
