As I have just had the pleasure to watch the Olympic torch pass along Lordship Lane at the corner of Somerset Close I thought that I'd share a few images I managed to grab of the the torch-bearer himself, which was Marlan Cox.
A full bio of Marlan can be found @ http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/torchbearers=mar...
and a full list of Haringey runners @ http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/community=the-lo...
There was quite a build up the the torch bearers themselves with several vehicles full of people cheering and some sponsors trucks handing out freebies.
There was a surprisingly big crowd of supporters lining the route which belied the amount of bad press you constantly hear about Londoners not giving a damn and we all seemed excited. The only negative was that someone had put Turkish grafitti on one of the lamppost banners but that had been replaced this morning.
I did not get many photos as I am awful at taking them and even worse when my mother decides to leap in front of me every time I raise it to take a picture but here are two.
I've made these images smaller but there are 3 large pictures in this gallery @ http://www.harringayonline.com/photo/albums/olympic-torch-bearers-i...
