Rolls Royce Showroom in Tottenham
(Dont laugh at me!!)
When I was a child, I remember a Rolls Royce showroom in Tottenham. It was on the junction of Lordship Lane & Downhills Park Road which then became a furniture showroom (pic below) and is about to be another new sainsburys!
Can anyone verfiy that I am not going mad? Also if anyone has pics? I been searching like mad.. it may not have been a Rolls Royce showroom, maybe just high end cars.

I just looked at its Rightmove entry (it's selling for nearly £1 million!) and they're marketing it as "ideal for a car show room", so maybe...

I remember it as a car showroom when I was younger. Not sure what cars but I do think they were top of the range types though.
Wasn't it a car showroom more recently too prior to becoming a furniture store? One that was raided by the police for some sort of wrong doing?

It is going to be a Sainsbury's Local according to the orange hoardings that gone up around the building.
It was a car showroom prior to it's becoming a furniture store several years ago, it then changed hands a few months ago and almost immediately put up signs saying it was closing. According to my mum and stepfather it was a Rolls Royce specialist.

there are quite a few local shops in this area. Do we need big business trying to shut down and take over the corner shop segment of the market because they have the resources.

When I moved to the area 25 odd years ago is sold second hand American cars, which was pretty cool. It then turned into a more normal car showroom, before it became the furniture place.
Don't remember it ever selling RRs though. Maybe that was an earlier in'car'nation.

Mark, Im starting to remember an American feel to it now... I was only about 4-6yrs old, but not sure if thats cos the building was so cool!!!
