Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just wanted to alert you all to be on the lookout...

Early this morning my son was downstairs (he's always first up) and he said a man had walked up the path and was trying to get in via our front door. He was very scared and came upstairs - chances are at this point, the person trying to get in saw him through the glass and thought better of it.

My partner often leaves for work very early, so I'm concerned it may be someone who has been watching the place.

I'm afraid I don't have a description, but I will be sleeping with one eye open tonight.

It happened around 6.45 this morning.

Has anyone heard of any early morning burglaries lately?

Ok, will do.

All police contacts are on our policing page - via the 'Public Services' tab.

Thanks. I have emailed them. There is a huge amount that I can say or that can be done. Just wanted pople to be aware.

Not heard of any early morning ones, but a neighbour in Alfoxton Avenue was burgled last week. (other side of GL) Worrying....

My neighbour (near the top of Seymour Road) mentioned to me that someone, who apparently had some type of key, tried to get access to his house early on Sunday morning. He was up and opened up the door while the bloke was scrabbling around with the lock. When challenged the guy said he was staying with friends and couldn't remember which house it was. When asked who his friend was he said "Paco" (after pausing for rather too long).

If you have lost a key in the last few days might be worth thinking about changing the locks.

Aha!
On Sunday morning at about 9 my partner spotted a young man trying a Yale key on several houses on Warham. As he is a very nosey parker (my partner that is) he managed to get a few full face photos of the suspected miscreant which we have emailed to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team and got called back by the ever helpful Glynn Kelly for more details.
Please let the SNT know about this as the two events might be connected.
Also he (the suspected miscreant) claimed that he was looking for a friend when one of my neighbours opened his window to find out what was going on.

Both incidents sound like they could be connected - that's a bit of a worry.

I was awake at 4.30 this morning, listening out.

I emailed the SNT yesterday, haven't heard back as yet.

Will keep you posted...

Perhaps I should edit the title to make more people aware...?

Mmmm..... On Monday night about midnight I heard our front gate bang and looked out of our bedroom window and saw a man hanging around our outside, he saw me looking out and said that they had dropped something over the fence that they were looking for, couldn't see down to my front door so continued to look out and a minute or so later two younger men came into view and left through the gate.

Either stupidly or not as the case may be they got into a car one door down any I took down the car model and reg number, which I will now forward onto the SNT team.

Make sure that you double lock the front door and if you have an alarm set the downstairs zone when in bed.
