Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

As usual, students have been very busy in their lessons and some have even been on a few trips!

A selected group of students, all different ages went on a very exciting trip to Seville, Spain last week. This was an amazing opportunity, everyone had so much fun and was genuinely a positive experience for all.  Please click here to see a student’s perspective.

More of our students were lucky enough to be invited to the Royal College of Arts evening. This is an evening held annually where guest speakers usually include designers, artists who are successful and well known for their work. Will.i.am was a guest speaker at this event. Students were very excited to have met him and even had a photo taken!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Hi,

Do you have a summer fair coming up? We'd like to get to know the school and attend some events.

thanks.

Hi Beewan

We weren't planning a summer fair but definitely an interesting idea.

Do you think we would get a good turnout from local parents and the rest of the community ?

I think there probably would if advertised well. Maybe advertised in local park cafes and through the primary schools. I'd be willing to help advertised it and organise that if you needed help. I helped advertised the new NCT group when it opened in Tottenham a few years ago.

There seems to be very little interaction with Park View and the primaries, I think it would be beneficial for parents to see the school and get to know it better. We were very impressed by the open evening and the open morning last October but did note how many parents at our current school dismissed P.V through a reputation that seemed to be earned years ago.

It would be a great fundraiser too.

thanks Beewan

It's always interesting to get opinions. I think we've been to more primary schools and got more primary school students in the school than ever before over the last year - a lot to do still, but also why we are trying to develop a profile on HoL and show what we do. Clearly I need to check the site more often given you replied some days ago.

I would be really interested which primary school your child goes to, you might not want to say on here but  my email is headteacher@parkview.haringey.sch.uk if you were prepared to send an email.

I've asked around some primaries and we may be too late to organise the kind of event we'd want to have the necessary impact. However, I do take your point and I appreciate the dialogue and your kind offer.
