Summer events at Hornsey Town Hall
Crouch End is set for a summer of culture with theatre, dance, art and music in a programme of community activities which are aimed at putting the Town Hall on the map as a vibrant arts venue.
Summer activities include:
- May 5: Crouch End Festival Saturday stage on the Town Hall forecourt
- May 23 – July 1: Yael Bartana: And Europe Will be Stunned. Art installation featuring a trilogy of powerful and challenging films made in Poland between 2007 and 2011. Commissioned by Artangel.
- July 7-15: Big Dance. A week of community dance rehearsals and activities, culminating in a liver performance on the Town Hall Forecourt.
- Three dates to be confirmed in June, July and August: Walk Cycle Reward events on the forecourt and green to encourage people to enjoy exercise and get to know their local community.
Liz Sich, Chair of the Hornsey Town Hall Creative Trust, said: “We’re delighted that both Hornsey Town Hall and the Town Hall Square will come alive this summer, giving people a taste of what’s to come.
“Let’s hope for fine weather and what I am sure will be a series of really successful and enjoyable events for everyone involved.”
The Town Hall and Square are still available for further interim uses ahead of the building being transferred to Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Anyone interested in holding an event should contact hth@haringey.gov.uk

As members of the Festival organising group, we aim to play our part in helping the community grow stronger and happier. After many, many lovely meetings, lots of website and emailing work, plenty of contacts with participants and visits to venues, meeting and re-meeting creative Crouch Enders, the Festival opening ceremony has finally arrived, heralding something for everyone!
We've been keen to support Crouch End Open Studios and asked them if Kinzli and the Kilowatts (acoustic nu-folk) could play at the Original Gallery upstairs in Hornsey Library today at 3:45, just before it closes @ 4pm, for 45 minutes of acoustic nu-folk music.
They said yes!
So, this event is a way to preview next week's open studios throughout Crouch End and enjoy some fine Festival music at the same time. Afterwards, why not pick up a brochure from the Cafe outside to guide your stroll though our creative village and pick from the next nine days of events. Don't forget to treat yourself to a Festival Cupcake from Dunns the Bakers.
