Seems like we weren't the only ones. (But clearly someone is Battersea is more publicity hungry than we are!)
Google seem to have got more responsive on their maps feedback. In my inbox this morning:
Hi Hugh,
You said: "Up till recently the label for Harringay neighbourhood was located in the extreme south east of the area. It's now been moved to the extreme west of the area. Please can we have it where it was for a short while? In the centre. That would be at about 51.58242993707355, -0.09969234466552734"
Your Google Maps problem report has been reviewed, and you were right!
We'll update the map soon and email you when you can see the change.
Thanks for helping us to improve Google Maps!

Hi Hugh,
You said: "Spelling - 'Harringay Green Lines' should be Harringay (Green Lanes) - that is Lanes, NOT Lines and parenthesised".
Thank you for reporting this problem. Unfortunately, for various reasons, the problem you reported isn't easy for us to fix at this time.
We did want to let you know that we've escalated your report to the appropriate engineering team. Even though we don't have an immediate fix to your problem, please be assured that we're working hard for a resolution.
Thanks for helping us to improve Google Maps!
Changing an 'i' to an 'a' isn't easy for the great Goggle to fix? And they're so fussy about who they employ too. Maybe I couldn't even fix it...
un peu ressentiment?
I made another submission about getting Harringay on the map a couple of weeks ago and just noticed that this has been added - roughly in the right place.
Also after two years "Harringay Green Lines" has finally been corrected to "Harringay Green Lanes".
They're clearly trying to curry favour however since, in addition to these changes, they've added Harringay Ladder too. That wasn't any of my doing. Oddly it still shows up once you've zoomed out to a citywide view as if it were a major area. Google Maps, who'd 'ave 'em.
Maybe that's what they meant when they said they were "escalating" your report.
btw. It's a remarkable achievement Hugh. Very well done.
That's brilliant. I now live in a really important part of London.
And that makes us all a really important people. (Wonder if that means we're cleared to start escalating the ingenuity of our 'tax management' schemes. )
