An investigation is being carried out into an allegation of fraud at a Haringey secondary school.
The fraud, reported to have taken place at Greig City Academy, in High Street, Hornsey, is said to amount to more than £300,000 and was discovered earlier this year.
Deputy headteacher David Hearn said: “There is an ongoing investigation but because there is an investigation we are limited in what we can say.
“But it doesn’t concern child protection or academic issues. The school has no further comment.”
Haringey Council said it has not been alerted about the case, but the school is not obliged to notify the authority since it became an academy and is therefore not under council control.
An inside source told the Journal: “Since this has all come out, I believe morale has really gone down in the school. It is destroying morale, especially now that some of the students even know about this.”

Don't tell me our Academy has been caught charging for free c.c. jabs or even practising homeopathy ?
Nice to see they're exercising their Academic Freedom to plead the 5th Amendment as far as our Borough is concerned.
Can't be anything in it, this is after all a Christian school.
