OK, I don't know how much this cost the council but given what they said a traffic survey of the ladder costs I can imagine it was quite a lot. We need to start selling services to the council...
Dammed if they do.. dammed if they don't... either "a waste of of OUR money"... or "not looking after OUR interests".... so easy to say.. more difficult to offer an alternative..
Hang on, Birdy and Hugh did it for free. We're just speculating, based on what the sods quoted us (so it serves them right) for a traffic survey, that they probably overpaid for this too. I don't object to them doing it. I just think that they're probably a soft sell.
Re-branding an area with an expensive logo never works on its own. It may do with well thought through policies, agendas, funding and consultation at local level. Jobs, facilities, crime reduction and clean streets are what matter.
A massive £50m is being spent on Seven Sisters but there has been constant infighting on how best to do this to transform that area of Tottenham and resignations have been the result. The first thing the council wanted to do was knock down the market at Seven Sisters which caused uproar. Not a good start! They do have a nice new community centre now though and a local park is getting a good make over.
These things happen with or without a logo. The Tory party & London Olympics spent incredible amounts of money of logos recently. My daughter could have scribbled a nice little green tree. The Olympics logo was not well received (under statement).
Living in exclusive leafy suburbs, approaching retirement, reminiscing the 'ban the bomb' days and other movements over an expensive glass of claret (probably, maybe).
