Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

So, go on - what do you think of the new design folks?

Thank you to those of you who came on to the beta site and gave feedback on the design as it was developed.

Birdy has done an enormous amount of work on this and spent an enormous amount of time - he even contributed some of the photos up top. So thank you Birdy.

We've tried to design it so it's clean, crisp, usable and modern, but not corporate or anonmymous. It's your site too. I hope you like it. But tell us all what you think. I can take it!

Yeah it might be a bit complicated, but it might be useful if you had a system on the website were people could search on previous threads. Maybe you already do? Not sure what it involves technically, but in the short term, I would be grateful if you could save the "gating the community" thread somewhere for me?
On the forum page, there is a search box which I recently discovered seems to pick up on thread content as well as tags. You can also browse by category via the forum tab. Not perfect, but something at least.
Colin, isn't it saved under 'my discussions' on your page?
thanks that will do for me :o)
Love the new look site, well done to all involved, revolving photos really bring it to life.
Looks great, big improvement. I know it's not an easy task to get right, your hard work has paid off! Well done to all involved.
I think it looks great too. Kudos to Hugh & Birdy_Too!

On the Google ranking: one of the factors influencing the ranking of a page is the number of pages that link to it (and, in turn, how useful those referring pages are perceived to be). So people with external sites, blogs etc -- add a link to this page and that will push it up the Google rankings.
It looks great, well done. Really like the photos.
Glad you like the new look site. Huge has been very professional over this and wanted it to be perfect for you guys.

Just to explain the marketing nonsense; the Community in the banner was kept as a considerable amount of members felt they didn’t want it to disappear, I hope that’s a reasonable compromise.

Why Green? Well for obvious reasons, the central hub of Harringay is Green Lanes and because there is a sizeable amount of people who would like to push a greener agenda. Surprisingly, there is also a considerable amount of green space around us as you can see in the HOL banner.

The H, represents “Harringay”, obviously, enclosed in an O, “Online”, do you get it : ) . The H is also birds’ eye view of any block over Green Lanes, the Ladder and Gardens; I’ll leave it up to you to decide what roads they are.
It's a shame the Council could not be similarly creative with their banner on the railway line bridge ;o)
Colin, I hope you can hear my audible gasp that you should criticise the wonderful bridge banner...the GLSG are very proud of that, I'll have you know.
I'm sorry Liz, it's hard to please everyone I know ;o)
