Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Cycling home this evening I noticed that the shiny new NHS building at manor house looked very prisonlike. It turns out the Jewish Care home for older people has become a forensic secure unit.

Their SSL certificate has expired. I expect they let the person responsible go recently. It's perfectly OK though.

For those nonetheless cautious about clicking on through, below is an image of the page Tako links to. Click the picture and click again to enlarge the image.:

Thanks for the info Tako.

But I think their location marker is wrong:

Correct me if I'm wrong Tako, but going by the address, it should be:

Crikey, hope you're not asking me. I just copied the web page!

Forensic psychiatry is a speciality within psychiatry concerned with helping people who have mental disorder and who present a significant risk to the public. It covers areas such as the assessment and treatment of mentally disordered offenders, investigation of the complex relationships between mental disorder and criminal behaviour and working with criminal justice agencies to support patients and protect the public. Forensic psychiatrists work alongside many other services including the police, probation, courts, Crown Prosecution Service and prisons.

So now you know!

I really don't know - mentally disordered offenders could cover a range of criminal offences.  But if so, it will be a secure unit so they can't get out and pose a danger to the public.

I suppose they have to be held somewhere and if they are known offenders they will be heavily monitored unlike the ones at large in society...

Well, you'd hope they'd have some idea and experience in the field. I don't imagine you'd open a rehabilitation centre for the criminally insane (sorry, mentally disordered) if you didn't have a few qualifications!!

my doctor's surgery complex is there so that's why i'm curious..

Mine too - you mean John Scott? - but that could be a plus for the 'unit'.  Probably no need to cry wolf, or even whisper Wolfson.
