You can find some previous discussion including background on its set up on this page Glen.

Still being advertised on lampposts, Glen. (And I'm pleased to tell you that it's paying the Council for those lamppost banners. Every little helps.) The site represents something called "The Tottenham Partnership". And the page "What we are here for has the list below. Unfortunately it's written mostly in 1990s regenero-babble.

It tells us that it's a "Marketing Partnership" about "capitalising on the potential of Tottenham through a managed and structured programme of marketing, public relations and other initiatives, led by a partnership between private and public sector organisations that have a vested interest in Tottenham."

This partnership led by a partnership "will strategically reposition Tottenham so that it is perceived as a destination of choice for business, culture, leisure and living".

Since they can't move Tottenham to Stratford, what does this mean for companies and agencies in the partnership? ("Stakeholders" as they used to be called at the turn of the last century.) Well, they: "will play a major part in promoting the area as a great place to live, work, visit and do business".

The Marketing Partnership aims to:

  • "Ensure the ongoing repositioning of Tottenham is promoted in line with a new emerging image"
  • "Create a coherent yet flexible marketing strategy to help build up investor confidence based on the repositioning of the area"
  • "Improve the perception of the area through PR, focusing on good news stories that emphasise Tottenham and all it has to offer inclding new developments, existing business and attractions, and improvements to infrastructure taking place; e.g. the gyratory improvements"
  • "Provide itergrated and consistent communication campaigns that reinforce the new repositioning values of the area"
  • "Build economies of scale and linkages across the partnership tp maximise the reach and effectiveness of the Partnerships’s marketing campaigns"
  • "Use a comprehensive range of promotional tools including signage, a Map of Tottenham (highlighting its assets), posters, carrier bags, Tottenham Promotional packs, DVD and the web"

(Seems they forgot speeling and puctuation. Oh, well. They can be repositioned later.

If that's typical of the quality of content, then I'm not surprised nobody's using it!

Abi, that page is so bad, it's almost funny. The rest is just  .  .  .  .  bad.

And I love the fact that one of the partners is Tottenham Hotspur. Yes, they're really committed to regenerating Tottenham. By, er, moving out of it. I guess that's the "strategic repositioning" they're talking about!

Thanks for the information.

Bit suprised that it was started so long ago , they still must be maintaining as it has it mentions the olympics.

This is an excellent forum with great feedback.
