Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The following in from Haringey Council:

Refuse and recycling collection services will be operating as normal over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

The Reuse & Recycling Centres in Hornsey and Tottenham will be closed on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th December 2010, and also on Saturday, 1st January 2011. Both centres will be open for the rest of the holiday period, 8.30am-4pm on weekdays and 9am-4pm at weekends.

Open: 8.30am – 5.30pm on weekdays

Closed: Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th December 2010, and Monday 3rd January 2011.

The Haringey Enterprise Call Centre is open 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, and will be closed on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th December, as well as Monday 3rd January.

Adult social care:
If older and vulnerable people need help and support, then they should ring 020 8489 1400 during normal office hours. Over the weekends and on bank holidays, then the number to ring is 020 8348 3148.

The Meals on Wheels service will be delivering meals as usual, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Friday 24th December - closed at 5pm

Leisure centres:
On Christmas Eve Park Road, White Hart Lane and Broadwater Farm will be closing at 5.30pm.
Tottenham Green, Park Road, White Hart Lane and Broadwater Farm will be closed on December 25, 26, 27 and 28 and on January 1.
Please check with the centre or online at www.haringey.gov.uk/leisure-centres for details of the availability of pools and classes.

Open as usual (8.45am-5pm) up to and including December 23.

Christmas and New Year Parking Enforcement

On Bank Holidays and Public Holidays there is free parking available in all on-street pay and display parking bays and in all Council car parks. Vehicles are not required to display a valid residents permit or visitors permit when parking in any of these types of location on these days.

There are some exceptions to this rule and the following restrictions remain enforceable:

Double yellow line restrictions
Single yellow line - waiting restrictions
‘No Loading’ restrictions
Footway Parking
Disabled Bays
Bus Stops Zigzags i.e. pedestrian crossings
Finsbury Park CPZ on Arsenal FC match days and events
Tottenham Hotspur matches and events – permits are required for all matches/events.

I'm replying just to get this one up on the front page again as it's very useful info, but took me quite a while to track it down in the archive.

A friend heard on the radio that some local councils are enforcing parking restrictions tomorrow because it's not an official bank holiday - glad that Haringey isn't one of them! What Scrooges!
